As an owner of a recently restored Model A this book is a MUST. Contained in it are all the fine points regarding the various body types and accessories. No wonder this book serves as a primer for the expert judging of Model A's.

Her Grave Embrace :
Published in Paperback by iUniverse, Inc. (July, 2003)
Author: M. G. Miller
Average review score:

Not Your Mother's Horror Novel
Wow! This isn't your mother's horror story. "Tales from the Crypt" will seem tame after you read this bolt of lightning. Not for the faint of heart or the prudish, but it's a visit to the darkest of the dark side. Not that it matters to most horror aficionados, but the language and usage are higher class than you find in most popular fiction. I don't mean it's hard to read. It's just a better read. I can't wait for Miller's next book.

A novel of voodoo, revenge . . . and undying love.
From the back cover:

Beyond passion and pain, beyond ecstasy and death. From award-winning author M.G. Miller comes a harrowing nightmare of diabolical love.

All Veronique wanted was love. For this, she paid with her life.
All her daughter, Vanessa, wanted were answers to her mother's untimely death. Instead, she discovered that some secrets are better left buried.
Secrets like the black magic of voodoo. Like sexual corruption and unforgivable sin.
But now the tomb is open. Darkness embraces the bayou.
And a decaying South is rising again...
From the dead.

"Scary as hell. M.G. Miller has crafted a terrifying, dark tale of voodoo and witchcraft. His incredible prose leads the reader into a world that paralyzes the senses. Not a story for the timid of heart, read it with all the lights on and the doors locked. Even then, you may not be safe." --Velda Brotherton, author

M.G. Miller has won Best Novel awards from Arkansas and Oklahoma states, a Deep South Writers prize, and a Governor's Award for his body of work. A member of several writers' groups, including Northwest Arkansas Writers, he also judges for the annual Oklahoma Writers Federation competition. A former editor for Compton's World and U.S. Atlas, Miller works at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He is currently at work on a new novel.

Highland River (Canongate Classics, No 37)
Published in Paperback by Canongate Pub Ltd (March, 1995)
Author: Neil Miller Gunn
Average review score:

One of Scotland's Finest..
As an analogy for life, you can't get any more meaningful than Highland River. A story of a young boy's maturation, told in the brutally honest and realistic context of life in the Highlands of Scotland, before the First World War. His life is intertwined with that of the battle of the salmon, both for survival and to achieve it's mysterious returning to its birthplace. Both are searching for the river's source.

Gunn's writing is breathtaking in its ability to articulate the most intangible of emotions, and there are passages in the book which will stay with me for the rest of my life. Gunn's understanding of the Highland psyche, and his ability to translate it into the most moving prose, is never better exemplified than in this book.

A MASTERPIECE
Neil Gunn's prose in this work is pure perfection. His description of life in the Northern Highlands is passionate, beautiful and refreshingly honest. A complex coming-of-age story that becomes a study of the connections between the working class and the land they live and die on. Gunn is one of Scotland's greatest writers. Contains some absolutely brilliant descriptions of Scotland's natural beauty. If you are interested in great fiction look no further, especially if you have an interest in Scotland. Highly recommended.

Home and Condo Defects: A Consumer Guide to Faulty Construction
Published in Paperback by Seven Locks Press (June, 2001)
Authors: Thomas E. Miller, Rachel M. Miller, and Rachel E. Miller
Average review score:

A "must" for every homeowner
Home And Condo Defects: A Consumer Guide To Faulty Construction by Thomas and Rachel Miller offer the non-specialist general reader a wealth of information and resources designed specifically for homeowners, and presented in direct, straightforward language for the lay person. Its primary purpose is not a do-it-yourself repair book, but rather a guide to complex and variable legal codes covering what is a defect, what a homeowner's responsibilities are, the responsibilities of the insurance companies, and what to do if one is sued or forced to sue. An extremely practical book, Home And Condo Defects is a "must" for every homeowner stranded in today's increasingly complex and problematic legal system.

San Francisco Chronicle, Dec. 16, 2001:
SF Chron: The Millers are attorneys whose firm has won many millions of dollars in awards from developers for construction defects. Their slender, soft-cover book guides the home buyer through the typically long and winding process. At its best, the book serves as translator for all of the legalese that confronts a consumer in search of relief for such problems as leaking roofs, toxic mold and cracked foundations. At its worst, the book underscores the need for attorneys, which, need I remind you, is what the Millers are. Yet they resist the temptation to say, "If we were representing you, we would. . . ." And they freely remind you that you can get much of the information in their book for a click of the mouse. The scoop is presented in both places in a fairly breezy, confidential, tete-a-tete style of writing that any reader would find accessible. For emphasis, each chapter ends with do's and -don'ts (about who can sue, what lawyers can argue, the role of insurance), which are recapped in the appendix. The appendix also answers 12 of the most-asked questions about construction defects, lists 11 "Trust me, I'm the builder" myths and outlines the top 15 reasons builders face construction defect lawsuits. No. 1 of the latter, by the way, is poor customer service. Which is the big reason why, if you suspect your home has defects, you will want to pick up a copy of this book. -- by Susan Fornoff

How Little We Knew: Collusion and Confusion with Sexual Misconduct
Published in Paperback by Dee Miller (September, 1993)
Author: Dee Ann Miller
Average review score:

Dee Ann Miller's How Little We Knew
Dee Miller's book, How Little We Knew was an excellent book for a survivor of clergy sexual misconduct, to read. She was able to be painfully honest with her own feelings in dealing with the sexual abuse from a fellow missionary. In doing so, she gives the reader permission to do likewise, perhaps in the reader's own painful realization that she has been abused. This topic is one, that few dare touch. This author was courageous and painted a real picture of the reality, but yet the further betrayel that can occur after the disclosure. Ms.Miller articulates so clearly, the feelings of helplessness, dispair, but then one that can eventually lead to empowerment. I applaud Dee Miller for having the courage to name the problem, clergy sexual misconduct and to share her pain so that others can learn from it.

How Little We Knew by Dee Miller
Dee Miller did an excellent job in capturing the emotions that a victim of clergy sexual misconduct goes through with this excellent book. In her honesty about the horrific sitiuation that she, herself had to endure at the hands of her perpetrator and then that of the governing church body, was emotional but yet educational. This is a must read for all church leaders, regardless of denomination. It becomes an educational tool when one sees how a situation was so very mishandled, but then can learn from these devastating mistakes. Yet it becomes an even more powerful book of suppport for fellow clergy sexual misconduct victims, when one may very well see written on paper, the emotions he/she may be feeling as well. Ms. Miller is able to articulate on paper, what other survivors may have been experiencing as well regardless of the denomination. A must read for clergy sexual misconduct victim/survivors and for all leaders of any faith communities.

How To Calm Down Even If You're Absolutely, Totally Nuts: A Simple Guide To Relaxation
Published in Paperback by Namaste Press (December, 1999)
Author: Fred L. Miller
Average review score:

Simple guide to relaxation, revealing deeper truths
This book is a real gem. In easy conversational language, Fred shares both his own stuggle and the tools he found to help him. Clearly a great deal of research, personal discovery and heart went into writing this book. It invites you in like talking to a good friend and yet Fred is clearly well-grounded in various approaches. He presents techniques in a "take what you like and leave the rest" format that allows the reader to explore and find what works best for them. Ultimately, it's a guide to the door of meditation and deeper experience without any mystical mumbo-jumbo. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a primer on simple tools to relax or to those who just need a reminder to do what they know works. It's small. Carry it around in your pocket or purse for those moments when the world seems to be getting the better of you.

A book for the stressed and for those preparing to not be.
I was surprised how much I liked the book. I hadn't really heard about Fred, but his teachings seem to be like a voice inside my head, the calm one. Both easy to read and yet with depth that sometimes a great writer can have, this book moved me and helped me get on track. As soon as I picked it up I immediately started thinking of my friends and family who would be helped as I was being entertained and gently educated. I guess I was a little nuts but now I have some tools to deal with my mysterious world.

Award Winner for Book Design
This book has received an Award of Excellence for book design in the 2001 Southern Books Competition. "Lovely green cloth binding opens to stunning title page typography that sits upon faint leaves. The typographic design is classic without being boring. Details, like the screened-back ornaments on the Contents page speak to the refinement of the design." Congratulations to the author and illustrator, designer Ellen McKie, and the University of Texas Press.

Answers to all your questions about how to make more plants
If you are serious about learning more about plants, all forms of propogation, then this is the book for you. It gets technical, but again, if you are serious, then you can figure it out. Comprehensive, well organized, good drawings, good glossary (no pronunciation guide though)and good index. A must have reference. Thanks to Ms Nokes.

How Will I Get Through the Holidays?: 12 Ideas for Those Whose Loved One Has Died
Published in Paperback by Willowgreen Publishing (January, 1996)
Author: James E. Miller
Average review score:

Simple yet profound
This is a deceptively simple book, quite easy to read, yet potentially transformative. It offers insights, helps and provocative questions that, if carefully considered, can help one navigate the especially difficult currents of holiday grief. It does an excellent job of normalizing predictable crises related to grief during the holiday season, and offers a pathway through the experience with sensitivity, compassion and wisdom.

A Wonderful Resource
This book is one of the best I've seen on grief--especially at the holidays. The author has gathered thoughtful quotes and draws on experience as a counselor and pastor to offer practical, heartfelt suggestions on dealing with grief. I've given this book many times as a gift to friends who are facing the holidays without a loved one. I highly encourage the use of this book!
